Bloodless Medicine: Transfusion-Free Surgery Today
Donated blood has long been considered "the gift of life."
Today, bloodless medicine and surgery offers patients quality transfusion-free medical care. For reasons ranging from religious convictions to the reality of contracting diseases such as HIV, AIDS and hepatitis, many have chosen to adopt bloodless medicine to ensure their continued good health and safety.
With more bloodless procedures being performed, blood banks can then conserve their limited blood supply for emergency use only. In fact, whenever possible, bloodless medicine should be the ultimate goal in patient care.
Bloodless Medicine: Transfusion-Free Surgery Today is a 30-minute TV special created for FOX¹s The Health Network and co-hosted by Aryeh Shander, M.D. and Sherry Ozawa, R.N. of Englewood Hospital & Medical Center, Kimble Jett, M.D. of Providence Seattle Medical Center, and Benjamin Bierbaum, M.D. of New England Baptist Hospital.
This program is produced by Information Television Network and was made possible by an educational grant from Ortho Biotech. For more information, please call 1-888- 380-6500.
