Kidney Cancer: Causes and Treatment
Doctors at the University of Arizona College of Medicine say early detection of kidney cancer is the key to survival. Proper diagnosis and treatment can literally make the difference between life and death for the nearly 30,000 people that will be told this year that they have cancer of this vital organ.
Blood in your urine, a lump in your abdomen or a pain in your side that doesnıt go away are some of the symptoms that Michael Gordon, M.D. Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona says you should look for. Fatigue, loss of appetite, unexplained weight loss and anemia may also be symptoms.
While there are thousands of new cases of kidney cancer diagnosed each year, itıs heartening to know that there are more than 100,000 survivors of this disease living in the U.S. right now.
The Cutting Edge Medical Report will focus on kidney cancer in an up-coming thirty-minute episode. This documentary will talk about how victims can start to heal after the shocking diagnosis. Medical experts and survivors will discuss the importance of understanding treatment options and choosing the right one.
Produced by Information Television Network in association with the National Kidney Cancer Association and made possible by a grant from Celgene Corporation, "Kidney Cancer - Causes and Treatment" will air on The Health Network, Friday April 5th at 10:00 pm Eastern & Pacific.
