The Clean Air Act: Rx for the Air We Breathe
Boca Raton, FL - Air... it's so essential to life that the air we breathe is often taken for granted. Unfortunately, it's also often polluted. Cars, utility companies, oil refineries or even a lawnmower can all spill pollutants in the air.
The Clean Air Act, established to enact national health standards, is helping to ensure that the air we all breathe is getting cleaner. Originally created in 1970, in 1990 the Clean Air Act was amended to reflect the changes made to our environment by a generation of electricity, industrial & household chemicals, transportation and small engines. Its purpose was to make sure that a booming economy didn't come at the cost of blue skies or threaten the health of our population.
Today's amazing technological progress requires government, business and consumers to come up with new ways to solve pollution problems. Beyond protecting the public health, the Clean Air Act also helps create incentives for technology advances, and innovative companies are embracing this.
TECHNO 2100: The Clean Air Act: Rx for the Air We Breathe is a 30 minute TV special premiering on April 21 that looks at the impact of air quality from the backyard to the global neighborhood, and shows how new technologies are literally offering a breath of fresh air for the future.
